Children going to view the Longmont Museums kids' summer film this week were treated to a visit from a very special guest. After watching the Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast, the young movie goers were able to meet the star of the film, Princess Belle herself, in the lobby outside the auditorium.

The Longmont Museum runs films for families on Tuesdays mornings through the summer with tickets only $2 per person and children under 2 free. This week's film was a sell out with young fans eager to meet and have a photo with Princess Belle in person. The children and their parents patiently lined up outside the Stewart Auditorium, many dressed in their own princess dresses, excited to meet Belle.

The opportunity for the meet and greet was provided by the local non-profit Truly Make Believe which is run by 21-year-old Rachel Oehlert. Rachel and her team of volunteers dress as princesses and storybook characters to visit Children’s Hospital Colorado hoping they will bring a moment of joy to the day of some of the most sickly kids in the state. Working under the charity name of ‘Truly Make Believe’ they also visit senior centers and attend birthday parties to spread the fun. Longmont Observer spoke to Rachel about the story behind Truly Make Believe back in May.

Tuesdays' meet and greet was an opportunity for Truly Make Believe to show to the local community what it is they do at the same time as making lots of Longmont children very happy. They have just announced on their Facebook page another after movie meet and greet at the Longmont Museum again on Tuesday, July 25th after the new Disney film Moana. Kids will get the chance to meet the Island Princess after the film.
