Longmont United Hospital received an “A” hospital safety grade from The Leapfrog Group. The Leapfrog rating grades hospitals on their commitment to safety.
The peer-reviewed grade is awarded to hospitals twice a year, in the spring and the fall. It examines 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, infections and the hospital system to determine the level of safety for patients. Data shows that these errors and risks kill more than 500 patients each day nationally.
Nine Mountain Region hospitals from the CommonSpirit Health system received an A grade. The others include:
- Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley
- Holy Cross Hospital - Mountain Point
- Longmont United Hospital
- Mercy Hospital
- Penrose Hospital
- St. Anthony North Hospital
- St. Catherine Hospital – Garden City
- St. Francis Hospital
- St. Mary-Corwin Hospital
